Behind Thrive

Created by parents, for parents.

Hear from Dr. Marissa Ericson, clinical neuroscientist and mom of three.

How it works

Three steps to get started.

  1. Share what you notice.

Answer questions about everyday feelings, setbacks and friendships. Allow around 30 minutes; you can pause and return.

  2. Read your child’s report.

See strengths and areas for support across five emotional and social skills, with explanations to help you make sense of the results.

  3. Try an activity together.

Use your personalised cards for difficult moments and calmer days. Follow the steps together, and save your practice in the app. Turn a sample card over to take a look.

What arrives in the box?

A printed card pack selected for your child’s age and assessment results. Both pricing options include the printed pack, digital cards and parent guides.

When can we start using Thrive?

You can begin the assessment after purchase or come back later. Your report appears after you finish. Digital cards and guides become available when your personalised pack is ready; printed cards are sent separately.

How long does the assessment take?

Allow around 30 minutes. Your progress saves as you go, so you can pause and return.

How do we use the cards?

Choose a card in the app and follow the steps together. Tap “We did this” to save each practice. After five practices, the card is complete and stays available to revisit.

Do we need to repeat the assessment?

Reassessments are optional and purchased separately. You can purchase one at least three months after your last completed assessment, when the next stage’s cards are available. Your existing report and digital cards stay available.

What research is it based on?

Thrive draws on selected PROMIS® questionnaires, a measurement system developed through research funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, alongside other parent-report questions. The overall Thrive score is our own measure, not an official PROMIS score. PROMIS research at the NIH

Is this a diagnosis?

No. Thrive is an educational tool for understanding your child’s emotional and social development. It is not a clinical diagnostic instrument. For concerns about your child’s mental health, consult a licensed professional.
